How to take screenshots in Mac OSX

NDNlfn web-featuredYou may want to take screenshot in Mac OS X that you can use as a graphic in any illustration in print or for your blog. Suddenly you are in need and you don’t know what to do.

  1. If you want to take the shot of the whole screen, press all these 3 keys… Command-Shift-3. You will get a click sound and it will be saved on the desktop.
  2. If you want to take only a part of the desktop, press Command-Shift-4. Now the pointer becomes a crosshair. Now click and drag the area you want to take a shot and leave the mouse. It will be saved on the desktop.
  3. If you want to take the shot of any window without any background clutter, press Command-Shift-4, and space bar quickly. You will see a camera icon. Now select the window. It will be saved on Desktop.
  4. If you want to copy the image and paste it in some application without saving, press the above combination keys with Shift key. It will be copied in the memory and can be pasted in documents.

All your saved images will be in PNG format.

These images can be used in your world-changing blogs.
